How a racist-message browser worm slithered on to Tumblr accounts

A quickly spreading worm on Tumblr has caused media companies The Verge, Reuters, and a large number of other account holders to publish a post laced with racist epithets and other offensive content.

The stunt, attributed to long-time Internet trolling collective GNAA, caused affected Tumblr accounts to display the post. People who viewed the post while logged into Tumblr were in turn forced to publish the offensive content, causing the attack to spread virally according to security researchers.

Hackers Get Nintendo Virtual Boy Games Running On a 3D TV

In what has to be one of the least requested hacks of all time, the folks over at Bureau Voor Gamers have managed to get games from Nintendo’s first attempt at 3D gaming, the Virtual Boy, to run on a modern 3D display.

The hack also lets you play using a Wiimote, but the biggest improvement is that the games are no longer only displayed on burning red LEDs. They’re only black and white now like on the Game Boy, but at least you can play for longer than two minutes before you have to walk away and squeeze an entire bottle of eyedrops onto your cornea. Massive LinkedIn Security Breach Leads To 6.5 Million Stolen Passwords

Professional social network giant LinkedIn has acknowledged that it is looking into a massive data breach. As a result of the breach as many as 6.5 million user accounts may have been compromised. Account data including login information and passwords have been leaked and posted to a Russian hacker site. Although LinkedIn hasn’t confirmed the breach or detailed which accounts might have been impacted, the fact that the company is acknowledging the potential threat and investigating it is a big cause for concern.
